I’m a Senior Virtual Design and Construction Engineer working at a mid-size general contractor, where I focus on discovering innovation opportunities and implementing meaningful improvements to commercial construction workflows. I also assist with BIM coordination on multiple projects, simultaneously mentoring and training the next generation of virtual design engineers and managers. I create healthy team environments in order to develop best practices, implement various industry technologies and deploy improvements.
What drives me isn’t just completing tasks—it’s finding better ways to complete them. Whether I’m tackling a complex coordination challenge on a project or organizing something in my personal life, I approach every situation with the same question: how can this be improved? This mindset has become the foundation of how I work and solve problems.
In the VDC space, I’ve learned that innovation isn’t about chasing the latest technology for its own sake. It’s about understanding the real pain points in our workflows, identifying practical solutions, and then actually implementing them. I thrive in that discovery phase—digging into processes, collaborating with trades and project teams, and uncovering opportunities that others might overlook.
But finding improvements is only half the equation. What matters most to me is implementation and sharing what works. Once I’ve tested and proven a better approach, I’m committed to documenting it, refining it, and making it accessible to my peers. The construction technology community grows stronger when we learn from each other’s successes and failures.
My forward-thinking approach means I’m always scanning the horizon for emerging tools and methodologies that could benefit our industry, but I balance that with a pragmatic focus on solutions that deliver measurable value today. I believe the future of construction lies in our ability to continuously optimize, adapt, and collaborate.
If you’re working in the construction tech space and share this passion for improvement and innovation, I’d love to connect.
